Perhaps you remember well the tornado that ripped through Crystal Lake on April 11, 1965, or perhaps you’ve heard tales from those who lived through the ordeal. The Crystal Lake Historical Society’s Tornado Tales Exhibit is now open at the Colonel Palmer House on Thursdays and Fridays between 11 AM – 5 PM and Saturdays 10 AM – 4 PM.
The exhibit features first-person accounts from survivors, news articles and photos, amateur photographs and videos, as well as information from the National Weather Service about the storm. Meet the victims of the disaster and get a look into the heroic efforts of rescues and first responders.
