A new exhibit is now open at the Colonel Palmer House in Crystal Lake!  We honor local men and women who served in WWI, WWII and the Vietnam War with stories of their lives before, during and after their service, as well as artifacts that have been donated to or are on loan to CLHS.
Meet the Pearson brothers, who served in different parts of the world during WWII. Meet Clarence Burman, a local farmer who lived in the Colonel Palmer House at one point in his life. Meet Patti Jo Young, a young woman from Crystal Lake serving in the personnel office at an Air Force base in Hawaii during the Vietnam War. Meet George Zwicky who faithfully wrote postcards to his sweetheart back home while serving in the U.S. Navy. And many more!
Stop by to see the exhibit this summer during regular hours of the Colonel Palmer House (Thursdays and Fridays 11 AM – 5 PM and Saturdays 10 AM – 4 PM). Also mark your calendar for the Home of the Brave Heritage Fest which will be held on June 29 from 10 AM – 2 PM.
