The exhibit spaces at the Colonel Palmer House have been totally transformed to feature the Sears Kit Homes of Crystal Lake. The exhibit features 22 homes that have been authenticated as Sears Kit Homes, built between 1913-1940. You will learn about the homes, their original owners, and some of the contractors who built them. Also featured are other buildings that were offered by Sears and several homes in Crystal Lake that are kit homes from other manufacturers. Join us for this fascinating peek into this popular building trend during the early part of the 20th century!
The exhibit will open for Crystal Lake Historical Society members only on April 14 at a Members Reception, then will open to the public on April 20 during normal operating hours of the Colonel Palmer House: Thursdays and Fridays from 11 AM – 5 PM and Saturdays from 10 AM – 4 PM.
